Organizing Purse: 4 Steps to Organize a messy Purse

Would you be embarrassed if I take a look into your purse right now? If untidy look, wrappers of candies, unorganized receipts, zillions of business cards and stray coins are all that are likely to make you feel embarrassed, it’s time to organize your purse. A chaotic purse gives us a hard time especially when we have to dig for a small item sitting at the bottom of the purse. This post is taking up the challenge to not only clean but organize our messy purses for peace of mind. Following Tips will keep your purse from becoming a dumping ground; and, will make it more functional.
Organize your handbag using this step-by-step guide and keep it organized by giving it 30 minutes of your attention every weekend.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

      o   Zippered Pouches

o   A Poly Envelope

o   Determination

STEP 1: READY, SET, DUMP!

First thing first, place everything you have been carrying in your handbag on the floor. It’s time to wear a critic’s hat while untangling stuff as you’ll have to throw away items that are old and no more useful. It may include receipts that are no longer needed, wrappers, used tissues, expired lotions and broken pens.
Also consider leaving “Just in Case” items at home. It doesn’t mean you should not plan for any emergency; rather, you should always have an emergency kit handy. However, keeping numerous shades of lipsticks is definitely not recommended.

STEP 2: GROUP SIMILAR ITEMS TOGETHER

Your aim should be to group everything into a distinct category. For your ease, here is the list of items that you may consider putting in your purse.

Makeup: Cosmetic items that you use, hand lotion (mini- bottle), brush, extra bobby pins, safety pins, one or two rubber bands and perfume (travel size).

Emergency Items: Medicines, aspirins, bandages, sanitary items, and pain killers, gums etc.
Electronic Items: Your mobile phone, iPod, earphones, charge, business cards,

Stationery Items: Planner, pens, notepad, pocket size calendar
Wallet: Money, ATM Cards, coupons, loyalty Cards,

STEP 3: IN POUCH IT GOES
Now that you have sorted all your items into distinct categories, it’s time to put one group of items in one pouch and properly zipped them. It’s better to have different pouches so as to exactly remember where to look for the required item. Pouches save loose things from resting at the bottom of the purse and make them more accessible.

All the receipts or any bill that you collect throughout the day should be kept in a poly envelope. When you call it a day, nicely file the important papers and discard the remaining. In this way, papers will stop claiming the 80% space of your purse.
STEP 4: DECIDE FOR NEXT CLEANUP
Organizing is an on-going activity as it requires frequent follow-ups to keep things in order. Make it a habit to put back any item that is found out of its designated pouches.

TIP 1: BUY A STURDY BAG
Lousy purses are hard to organize, no matter what. A bag that can stay put on its own is more likely to look neat and tidy. Moreover, the handbag itself should have plenty of pockets as it allows you to compartmentalize your belongings.

TIP 2: BUILT IN KEY HOOKS
Use your bag’s built in key hooks for keys – they are life savers. Especially, if it’s an emergency or pitch dark in the parking lot, you can’t afford putting everything out to find keys.
TIP 3: DON’T OVERLOAD YOUR PURSE
Just because you might need it is a no excuse to over stuff your bag. Not only will you end up with a messy looking purse; but will also carry heavy burdens on your shoulders. Go minimalist as less is more.
